AiM Channel Expansion

AiM Channel Expansion

If only a few years ago the number of channels in the data logger was too small, the logger had to be replaced with a correspondingly larger one. Today instead (thanks to the CAN bus network) expansion modules are simply plugged in to increase the number of analog and digital channels to currently up to 64. Extension modules can be systems that are limited to individual functions, for example GPS or Lambda, or also expansions that are connected to further analog or digital sensors.

Analog channel expansion is available for measurements with thermal resistors, potentiometers, pressure sensors or voltage sensors. It also saves a lot of cabling and weight, and thus also costs, because it is also placed near the sensors. Here too, only a single line leads to the next CAN node. A typical application is the recording of the suspension travel and the tire temperature at 3 points on a wheel-by-wheel basis.
